Can anyone please tell me where I can get information on this? My Son was released from prison a few months ago and is on a MAPPA. The victim has requested that he doesn't enter a specific area. He's entitled to this but I'm wondering why this is as the crime didn't happen there and he doesn't even live there. The only thing is that all our family do and maybe it's another way of getting back at my Son

I think he would probably be better asking his Probation/Probation Service Officer for any information they have.

Ok thank you Marje
Hi Loopylou,

Search the internet for 'Mappa exclusion zone / victims' and the relevant local authority area.
If you goggle as the lady says, you get

http://www.justice.gov.uk/downloads/offenders/mappa/mappa-guidance-2012-part1.pdf

which is 200 pages on MAPPA

of which 1.25 says: MAPPA is designed to reduce the risk of further serious violent or sexual offending, but from time to
time offenders do go on to commit such offences. When the most serious offences are committed, the SMB
must consider commissioning a MAPPA Serious Case Review to examine
blah blah - so an ex offender can trigger a review by re-offending,

but somewhere in there there should be an appeals/review process

...... and what I wanted to post was - didja know a mappa is the embroidered hankerchief a bishop would carry around of old (15 Cent) along with his crozier and mitre ?
