a couple of weeks ago.. was drunk, met a chap sitting on a wall also been drinking..was telling him all his troubles ect...they started to walk up the road together ..this other chap kicked a back gate that opened..he went in...and this friends son in law followed him to get him out but this other chap had already broken in so he followed.! the people came home and caught them ..other chap ran and the son in law was caught by the houseowner..they had a scuffle and he run away. After he got away he felt gulilty and went back to the house...the police where there and he told them he was sorry and gave himself up. He told them all he could about this other man but he hasnt been caught. Now the son in law is waiting to hear if any charges are going to be made.? He has never been in trouble before, except drink driving years ago. and is waiting now until he has to report to police station in two weeks to see if he is going to be charged. Nothing was stolen...What can he expect to happen?

So I just dont know what to say to her. Yes criminal damage is one thing..but if it was my house I wouldnt let anyone off...no matter how sorry he was. I do feel for his family though as he has a wife and children and neve rdone anything like this before.. Oh well lie you say we will all have to wait and see what happens. many thanks xx
Thankyou iggyStardust...he reported to the police station and has a court date for next monday...the people in the house have pressed charges...so he is in court on monday but his solicitor thinks this will just be a pre court apperence and it will go on to another court again so they can gather details about his past...which, as far as I know only drink driving..other than that a married man with three children and no prevoius history of breaking the law.?
