Help for impending case please!

Hi Everyone,
Over the Christmas period my husband and my brother went out for some drinks. They went with a friend of my brother's (they have known each other for approx 5 years), my husband met the friend for the first time. As the night drew to an end the friend insisted my brother and my husband went back to his flat to carry on drinking.
At the flat drinks hastily to catch up.
Friend is getting increasingly drunk, brother orders a pizza to reduce the effect. It's now approx 2:30 am.
The friend continues aggressiveness and insults husband with foul language and then gets up and pushes him. Husband falls to the floor, friend lunges towards him, brother breaks things up sits them both down. Things calm down and they sit down and carry on with the evening.

Apologies it seems only half of my question posted.

After they calmed down, my brother went to the bathroom and the friend became aggressive again, pushing my husband about. The are engaged in a scuffle the friend grabs a bottle, my husband grabs his wrist. They are now falling all over the place and scuffling on the floor. My brother hearing the commotion comes out seperates them and sends my husband home. Meanwhile the friend has a cut to his head and tells my brother my husband hit him with a bottle. Brother duly calls ambulance and informs them what he has been told. Ambulance and police arrive. Friend tells my brother to get rid of police, so my brother says it was a fight with a guy they had just met that evening.
Friend has since decided to press charges against both my brother and husband. Saying my brother held him whilst husband punched and bottled him.

consequently my brother has charges of GBH and perverting the course of justice and my husband for GBH.

considering the friend has lied so much does he have much of a case, as there were no independent witnesses apart from my brother potentially, therefore friend is acting clever by framing him too. Friend had two inch cut to his head, but did not require stitches.

This is a difficult one because they had been drinking. Were they too drunk to know what really took place?
Any decent defence barrister will make mincemeat of the aggreived submission that he was attacked.
