Convictions on application forms

In what circumstances do you have to tick the box on an application form where it askes you about previous convictions? For example doe it apply to a suspended sentence that hasn't been activatedand does it apply to fines?

If the application form asks for details of previous convictions then you should declare them.Suspended sentences and fines ARE convictions.

If for example you got a job and your employer later found out about the convictions you could be liable for a charge of deception.

Depending on the type of job your prospective employer may ask for a CRB check in which case all your convictions would be revealed
