i take it you mean gbh with intent section 18, well tell us what he did.and we might be able to tell you,and tell the truth.
Question Author
he cut the lads hand
your lying,he would not have been charged with that for cutting a hand, unless he used a sword,if you cant tell the truth, dont post.
Question Author
wat you on about like you know him or you was there dont tell me i tell lies
As Norman indicates, a simple cut wouldn't result in a GBH charge. It would either have to be serious enough to require a transfusion or, alternatively, require extensive medical treatment (e.g. an operation to repair severed tendons). For the 'with intent' to be added to the charge, it requires that, for example, a weapon was selected for the assault. To get some idea of the seriousness of the charge against your partner, read Sections 5 & 6 here:
http://www.cps.gov.uk/legal/section5/chapter_c .html#10

Section 18 GBH carries a maximum sentence of life imprisonment. If your partner used a glass to inflict the injury, the sentencing guidelines suggest a sentence of 3 years imprisonment. If he used a knife, the guidelines recommend a sentence in the range 3 to 8 years:

thanks chris the lad did have hospital treatment for his hand but so did my partner for his nose but was all planed on the other lads part they were on the phne telling mord to come but theres 4 statemants against my partner and the lad has admitted jumping him first and biting his nose
you are still telling lies, tell us the truth,if you really want some help and advise
There's a certain economy with the truth here. Still no explanation as to how the hand was cut. This is imperative to the advice given.

If four lads were to jump one lad - the police/cps would hardly have a chance of a conviction before a jury for assault by the one being attacked on one of the four attackers.

Something is missing here in the puzzle and without all the pieces a full picture cannot be given without the truth and all the facts.

they was at a party the four lads were starting they throw a dart at my partner witch landed in the side of his head it started inside they all seemed to end up outside the lads jumped on my partner bit his nose so he pulled a knife and cut the lads hand
Use of a weapon , crown court and maybe's a sentence of 2 years
Question Author
thanks rosojoly but i suppose its all down to the judge at the end of the day he a good man was just in the wrong place at the wrong time and thats not me just sticking up for him cos he my partner it was not fair on none of them really the lad or my partner i dont take sides and its his own fault he is side but its not fair they not the police said my partner has to wait till this case over with before he can make a complaint about them its wrong really
"a good man was just in the wrong place at the wrong time "

yeh what a great bloke - has a knife on him and he's prepared to use it !!

With that in mind re-read this section of Chris's post :

Section 18 GBH carries a maximum sentence of life imprisonment. If your partner used a glass to inflict the injury, the sentencing guidelines suggest a sentence of 3 years imprisonment. If he used a knife, the guidelines recommend a sentence in the range 3 to 8 years:

I think he's lucky not to be looking at a murder charge - it could have ended so differently.
Question Author
i am not saying what he did was right far from it and am not condoning it yes he was in the wrong and should do a custodial sentence but the other lads did start it and he was acting in self defence the wrong way i agree but the place where we live is a bad place and people are always causing trouble but like i said i dont condone any of it and its his own doing he was protecting himself
i would call someone who carries a knife a 'good man'.

They all sound as bad as each other but if only one is being charged Im glad its the one carrying a weapon

sorry sorry sorry that should read 'WOULDNT', but Im sure everyone will realise that
i knew you were lying from the start, why did your GOOD lad have a knife on him in the first place,to trim his toenails.
I agree with Norm nice people don't carry weapons they get out of the way if theres trouble instead
Question Author
i guess you would all think bad of him but like i said you dont know him and was not there when things kicked off
well actually love i feel sorry for you coz u say the other lads started and i believe that to be true coz its a bit like that where i live and i suppose your chap carried the knife for self defence its a cruel world we live in isnt it x
