Do you mean would he have to declare his own conviction?

Or a probationer's conviction?

Either way, declare it to whom in what circumstances?

Somebody who is a trainee probation officer and has received a police cautuion for harrassment, not in work but in leisure time. Should he inform his employer or keep quiet.
Inform his employer. He or she will certainly be in serious breach of contract if s/he doesn't.

Thanks Ethel. Is it a sackable offence?
Depends on the severity and the circumstances, I suppose.

On several occassions and in one night 3 times alone causing a domestic disturbance at 3.00am, including swearing and shouting abuse at somebody in front of the police. The final time in the same night when the police were going to arrest him he ran off. The police not knowing where he lived at the time, so could'nt do anything about it. He went to the property another night and did the same thing, so the police cautioned him under the 1986 harrassment act.
Hi jaycee,

People in secure jobs, Police, Court workers Solicitors Care workers etc. All need to disclose convictions.
A police caution is not a conviction and is classed as spent immediately in accounting for secure occupations.

The caution never goes away but if he were a apply for any other job ( non secure ) he would not be required to disclose it.

It would seems his repeated behaviour would normally have put him before the court. But if he was only dealt with once then a caution was the most appropiate action.

All people make mistakes have arguments and sometimes these involve the police.

The police and the criminal justice system look to resolve the cases with the most appropiate action this can lead to some people being dealt with in a way that may seem too lenient to the injured party.

IT IS THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM
It will show up on a CRB check, I would think. Cautions show up on the information Probation hold on previous convictions records for the offenders they deal with.
