Is it true that a criminal conviction is removed after a certain amount of time if it is requested?

Hi Mawashi it come spent if under 18 when you reach that age but will allways be on record and can be picked up by police if for instance you apply for a shotgun licence

I asked this question to the CRB. the convictions will stay on record whether spent or not so do cautions. So will any other related offences attached to the conviction. . And I think that convictions for drink driving are on record for 11 years from conviction. But always remember that when a minor conviction is spent then the human rights act does apply. A good link is wipe the slate clean. this gives usefull info
