i have been charged with common assault, apparently i slapped the manager of a bar with an open hand, I have been convicted of GBH before(16 years ago) and don't know if I should plead guilty or not as I cannot remember if I did slap the man as I had a fair bit to drink on the evening in question, I am also worried about the sentence I may receive, any advice is welcome

if i were you ansta i would get a solicitor.....sorry if that sounds like a daft answer but you really need some sort of legal representation,if you havent already done so......
Since you cannot remember the incident you will have to rely on the evidence held by the prosecution that supports the charge. After seeing this you should be able to decide how to plead.

The magistrates starting point for this offence where no aggravating features exist and no injury is caused is a fine.
