Went into large pub/restaurant at the weekend, ordered 2 rounds and was charged different amounts each time for exactly the same drinks. Noticed that the bartender didn't ask for the amount each time just took the 20 note then noticed that every cash register display on the customer side had been covered over with a printed A4 piece of paper with a drink deal on it....could I report them to Trading Standards???? They must be making a fortune if they're overcharging each customer....... Thanks

i don't know that they are obliged to show the till, just a price list of drinks. perhaps you wer the only ones wh were charged differently? Do you think you had a deal on one round and then charged proper price for the other? Happy hour perhaps?
How do you know you were overcharged? You may have been undercharged both times? Why didn't you query it at the time if you believe you were being overcharged, or else ask to speak to the landlord?
Shoot him.

Actually I did. 1st round was 8.30. 2nd round got change for 9.10...........queried man in suit behind bar.......asked him how much said round should be. He said 8.10. Asked me who served me after giving me right change for 2nd round and had a word wiv barman. Have spoken to a few people since who have had same experience.

Not shoot him............
Sounds like the barman has been giving away free drinks to friends and making it up by overcharging.
