I've sold same machinery and been paid for it, but customer hasnt collected goods. I have contacted him several times, but I am still in possession of the goods. What can I do to get rid of the machinery as it is in my way.

I was bracing myself for a great deal of typing, in order to explain the provisions of the The Torts (Interference with Goods) Act 1977 to you. However I've found that Warwickshire County Council has done the job for me:

send money back and re-sell
deliver it to him
write him a letter
Charge him for storage!
Where did you sell it? Ebay? Privately?
If he has paid by Paypal, then you should be ready for a 'goods not received' notification from them
Do not get rid of what eve rid is as you could find yourself both out of pocket with no goods to resell - keep trying to contact him. If it is Ebay, pull his details and call him
id send a formal email stating that if the goods are not collected within say 2 weeks you will remove the items from your storage and place at the roadside to await his collection - and you will no longer be held responsible for the safety of the item.

dont actually do that of course...but if he still doesnt collect, id just resell and tell him they must have been pinched...

could you arrange cash on delivery courier or something?
Recorded letter if you do the above, keep a copy and ask the PO to stick a date stamp on it for you
