My neighbours grandaughters cat had been coming into my house through a downstairs window .on 2 occasions it has found its way into my house in the middle of the night.and scared me to death with its screamin mewing sound .
I politly had a word with her ,and she said that there was nothing that she could do. I explained that i didnt want it coming into my house.and now that the weather was getting warmer i didnt see any reason for me to keep my windows shut ..
about 6 months ago the same cat lost its tail .Today her grandmother told me that the whole family were of the same poinion ,that I was responsible of being cruel to the cat and delibretly closing the cats tail in a door which has resulted to a very expensive vets bill.
No way would i even consider such a thing ,I am very upset about such an allegation .How should i resolve this ,?
I am thinking about the legal option of being wrongly accused.

what legal option of being wrongly accused? do yu mean defamation or something? then you'd have to prove that your good name was wrongly defamed to others, not just to you. no legal option here that i can see from what you've said.
I know you said you politely had a word with her about the cat coming in but, in all fairness, not a lot she could have done about it. If it happened to me, I would just make sure the window was closed so that the cat couldn't come in.
i would just leave it and perhaps, in the future, when you see your neighbour you could mention how upset you were that they thought you would hurt their cat.
