How do you know they don't pay tax?
Quite difficult to use significant amount of spare cash to buy houses as the money laundering rules are now very tight.
Google "HMRC Tax Evasion Hotline" for ways and means and advice.

Thanks Ratter, thats the one! She does use the cash to buy houses, and I know because its my best friends step daughter who boasts to anyone who'll listen (while showing them her latest Gucci or Rolex watch)
i thought it was virtualy impossible to buy houses cash, any large cash transactions have to be reported to the plod / soca , as a car dealer we are forbidden to accept cash payments over a certain amount for vehicles.
the police would be alerted re the potential for money laundering.
Chas2008, some people sell off properties as 'cash only' and they sell them off cheap in order to get rid of them this way. You can also pay cash at auctions for houses I believe.
when they say 'cash only', it usually means no mortgage, not a carrier bag of notes !!, if that was the case all the druge dealers would own most of the property that comes up for auction, the transaction would be by bank transfer, cheque etc. and would still be reported to ;'SOCA'.....the whole point is to stop dodgy money being laundered.
