Can a JP who has resigned from the Bench still call herself a JP?

Having resigned from the Bench after 5 years' service, can I still refer to myself as a JP?

If a magistrate is on the supplemental list they can use the suffix until death but if they are not on the supplemental list they should not use the suffix at all.

Curious question. Surely, as a JP, she ought to have decent enough contacts to address the question to without going into a public forum. Perhaps there's more to this than meets the eye.
