harrasment and defermation of character
I won a property battle with an ex partner 4 years ago. It ended up in court and I won. He lied and squirmed his way through everything. He posted a letter to my current partner (anonymously) 3 days before the court hearing, calling me every name under the sun and what a *** I was who slept around. although I could tell 100% he sent the letter, he penned it as if it was from someone else.
Today my partner received a another anonymous letter, exactly the same wrtiting on envelope word for word, no surname, postcode and again the things in it are obscene.
I went to the police with the first letter but there was nothing they could do. I it worth us going to the police again, we still have the first letter and envelope, the police also have records that he was violent to me!

Hi, as Eddie states, keep the letters inc ase the situation escalates etc and if it does then approach the police again with a view to a complaint of ongoing harassment.
Open any further letters by cutting the bottom of the envelope with a pair of scissors (to preserve any possible scientific evidence under the stamp and sealing strip) and place in a secure location. Keep a log of time and dates etc.

it's def him, everything links to him, inmfo he has put is what he bomarded me with for years, and some of the stuff he has written only he knows about. Too many things point the finger at him. when we lived together he made up papers on the computer at work which called me all horrible things under the sun, porn magazine pictures stuck on a4 paper with my name printed next to them, he said it was someone at work so when i tackled him about us both going to see the manager,to find out who it was, he wouldnt, said it would make him look stupid! He is one sick guy! The letters he has written imply someone else has wrote them (a friend) but all 3 letters read the same and have the same spelling mistakes.
Hi Dave I am not going to contact his employer, if the police want to do this then thats up to them. The police mentioned having his handwriting analysed so we then have proof or maybe once tbe police visit him he will confess. His last letter started with, Hello X (my current partner) I bumped into X(ex partner) and he told me .......--- well I must say for someone you just bumped into he told him war and peace!

Police been, took letters and envelopes away with them, took some details from both me and partner, they agreed letters were from same person, they agreed it was not written by a third party. Asked for some background info on him which I tried to give regarding propery/court and what his general persona was, I was as honest as poss without sounding too scathing. They have now gone round to where he lives to question him, im pretty sure his partner will not be aware of these letters, although by now she will be! The outcome depends on whether he confesses, he no doubt will not, and will say it was written by someone he knows but he is not prepared to reveal who! They are going to mention about forensics but purley to frighten him. Hopefully the police presence will stop any further mither either that or he will do something more worrying, in which case the police said they would have him arrested straight away. What they will do about his employment, I don't no, I suppose it all depends on whether he admits to the letters. The police will call me to let me know what happened.

Found out today, when police wewnt round he wasnt in so they left a note for him to contact them, as of yet he hasn't. Not sure how much time they give you to make contact, I presume if he doesn't get in touch they will call at his home again? I know exactly what he will say to the police 'I never saw any note from you'. Watch this space ....
