Do the courts in Northmapton specialise?
Do the courts in Northampton specialise in anything ie debt or family or employment?

Tribunals, rather than courts, deal with most employment disputes.
Magistrates courts generally handle relatively minor criminal cases (although even the most serious offences, such as murder, have to pass through them). They also handle a few civil matters but those take up only a relatively amount of the courts' time.

Crown Courts deal with serious criminal cases, which have been referred to them by magistrates.

I think Northampton has a fast track, online debt claim section.
You can issue a claim online, and pay the court fee by credit card. The claim is then issued from Northampton, and only transferred to the defendant's local court if it becomes defended.
Because of this, an unusually high proportion of debt actions are issued by Northampton County Court.

The County Court Bulk Centre (CCBC) is a County Court in England and Wales created to deal with claims by the use of various electronic media. Unlike other County Courts the CCBC does not physically hear cases. If any case might require a hearing it is transferred to another County Court.
