Car insurance

A girl where I work has just passed her driving test and bought a car. In order to reduce the cost of the motor insurance she has submitted a friends address to the insurance company as the friends address is in a cheaper post code area. Is this legal or fraud, ? and in the case of her having an accident is she covered by insurnace?

I think she does know its illegal as it would be the same in Poland.
If she'd smart enough to work out that a friends postcode reduces the premiums then she's smart enough to know its a fiddle. She's taking the risk that the insurers will not find out or that she'll not need to make a claim. But she'd stupid enough to have told a colleague? It'll all end in tears and i hope its soon. Like when she slips up and puts different things in different addresses.
