My stepfather has died and i thought i was his next of kin. But the wmen he has been with for 6 yr and living with since may this year has said she is. Can you help please

There is no legal definition of 'next of kin'.

His next of kin can be whoever he nominates.

If he did not marry this woman he has been with for 6 years then she has no legal right to any of his money etc unless he left it to her in his will.

A co-habiting partner has no legal rights.
