Legal Action Against Karate Instructor

I am currently in my first year of law so as yet don't know enough about this to answer my own question. 7 years ago I attended a karate seminar. The instructor was a bit of a show off shall we say. He was demonstrating a move on me and in the process he knocked me to the ground (hardwood floor) where I landed on my head. I instantly went blind but gradually started seeing lots of different colors accompanied by a large star which lasted for approximately 1 hour. Later that day I went to the hospital and was told I had concussion.

Since that day, whenever I run I have what can only be described as a flash within my vision which is similar to that of a camera flash. Occasionally I also see the star shape within my vision which progressively gets bigger and bigger until it dissipates and disappears completely.

Would it be worth pursuing legal action at such a late stage or not? TIA

Interesting.

I would entirely with the postvof boxtop and also Joko.

You would need a medical opinion which would relate your present symptoms from the head injury.

Also you would need to convince the law that you life had suffered some deleterious affects to your lifestyle.

In my opinion......both would be difficult.
yay for sqad, are you back?
visual signs when you run....
check with your GP there isnt a retinal detachment

inlikely I agree
one last thing, didn't you sign a form to join the karate class, exonerating the management from blame if you should injure yourself?

plus, who was this person, where is he now, and was he/is he insured?

there is a lot more to think about than just ... it happened and *may* have caused you harm ...

but i still think you are out of time!
for the last four years i have the same problem with my eyes. it started with a flashing, then it it is a zig zag circle in the centre of my eyes, it gradually gets bigger until i cant see properly, until it disappears. it lasts about 20 minutes.
i can get it in one eye or both, it can come on several times a week, and then i wont have it for a month or so.
I was refered to the eye clinic at the hospital and was told it was migraine without the headache, and is just one of those things that happen.
I doubt if you can claim or even prove that the migraine was the result of that blow. you have left if too long.
God I hope you never have to represent anyone
