I have LPA for my disabled sister, she has no written will as yet.

If my sister were to die without a will, who would inherit, this sounds callous, but my older sister used to be deputy for my disabled sister until her death last year, and so my year has been consumed with getting everything sorted out for both sisters, i.e. LPA registration etc, and this is when I realised that my disabled sister has no life insurance, no will etc.

firstly, could she make a will? if she is physically disabled, solicitors will come to the house. Does she have mental capacity?
As far as i recall (although someone will be along soon to confirm or deny) if someone dies intestate, once all their bills have been settled from the estate the order of inheritance goes husband - childen-parents-siblings

The laws of Intestacy can be unjust and not what the deceased person would wish, which is why everyone should make a will, if there is no surviving spouse, the estate will go to the children who are still alive, then parents still alive, then brothers and sisters in equal shares. These categories are self-contained so that, if someone survives in any one category, the next category gets nothing.
You may remember Jill Dando, who was 37 when murdered, single and without children, she died interstate and her estate went to her Father.
