Can I get a pub licence
10 Answers
I have recently decided to buy a pub/restaurant, however I was convicted under the Road Traffic Act (Scotland) in 2001 of DUI I got a 1 year ban. No punishement will punish me as much as my own. Will this make me unable to get a licence now?

There's the link, it's a bit of a read but all the info is there.
I've just re read your post and realised that you may be applying for a Scottish Licence. The legislation is different north of the boarder but I would guess this would still be relevant.
I think your conviction should be spent by now but you should check with the Scottish Licensing authority.

sherrardk - I'm sorry to hear that and it's little comfort to say that you are not alone. It is not an easy trade to be in at the moment and won't get any easier in the near future. Having said that I think there are opportunities in this sector.
I did mean to say to Margret007 - Do you have any experience in the trade?
If you have any further questions I will help if I can
