I can't believe someone has parked on my private drive! I returned home today to find a Range Rover actually on my drive, not blocking my drive but actually on my drive!!! It is a private house conversion with two parking spaces,
one is for my flat and the other space belongs to the first floor flat. I was forced to park on the street and what is really annoying is that neither the police nor the council can do anything about it as it is private property....am I missing something or can we all go around parking wherever we like now and to hell with the idiots that have paid through the nose for a parking space on their property??

But yes, as others have said, check with the first floor residence first to ensure it's not to do with them, and if not, then block the drive with your vehicle telling the first floor residents that they can contact you if they need to get out.
Put a notice in your windscreen saying you are off for a fortnight's holiday. ;-)
By the way I have no in depth knowledge of the law but know what I think is right. So the opposite of the law then.
