is it law in the England and Wales that you should have a fresh Glass when purchasing Beer at the Bar?
I have read that in Scotland Beer should be served in a fresh glass every time. Makes sense to me with all that saliva being passed from glass to glass via the beer tap. Is the law the same in England and Wales? if it is why is it not enforced?

Fresh glasses have been the norm in Scotland for longer than I can remember. I would not return to any premises where it was not applied.

There is an old gent who lives by me who has been taking his own tankard to the pub for years.
They did pour his drink direct into the tankard until a few years ago but they now sell him a fresh 2 pint jug of drink which keeps him happy most of the time he visits and he pours it into his tankard.
They have another 2 pint jug in case in case he stays for a couple of extra hours.
I am not sure what they do if he wants just 1 pint or 3 or 5.
