Is there an average time after death when a will is read out? Mrs Myriad thinks that it happens quite quickly these days but I suspect it's probably a good few months.

Oh dear McMouse, when I used to professionally administer estates, the absolutely first thing I would do was a paperwork search to ascertain that I had enough money to bury the deceased and cover the immediate post death expenses - otherwise, I'm afraid it got dropped like a lead balloon.
