I've recently been getting a huge influx of cold calls trying to sell me anything and everything from loft insulation to investment advice. I'm registered with the tps and always tell the politely where to go. As it's unlikely that they are all getting my name and number from the telephone book all at the same time, I suspect that my details are being sold around the country as part of a database. Isn't this sort of activity illegal now?

If they get enough complaints they will write them a letter and if they persist in being a problem they can be reported to Offcom

Unfortunate felt tps cannot stop international calls or computer generated and I think you will find that's what they are unlikely your details are being sold
