Penalty Points - Where To Find The Date???
Endorsements read:-
Convicting Court Code:- 1428
Offence Code:- SP30
Date of Offence:- 01/11/11
And across Fine, Disqual. Period, Other & Penalty Points it reads FIXED PENALTY 03
The question is how do you find out the Date of Conviction if the space under that (the 2nd column) has been left blank. Friend needs it for an online Insurance Comparison website (one of them asks for the date of offence and the date of conviction).
Please note she never went to court, she just accepted the £60 fine and the 3 points.
Is there a phone number to ring to find this sort of info? She needs to sort insurance out asap as present one runs out at the end of this week : s
Many thanks in advance
Mitchell.

Unfortunately I was caught doing 36 mph in a '30' zone several years ago and I've never been asked for the date of conviction by anybody. Very strange, tell her to use one of the other comparison websites.
A fixed penalty isn't a conviction. A conviction only occurs if someone appears before a court. If someone is asked if they have any driving convictions (and they've only had fixed penalties) they can lawfully answer 'No'.
Of course, if the form asks for details of fixed penalties as well, they must be declared. The form should have a separate section for that but, if not, the only option would be to enter the date of the offence (as shown on a driving licence) as the [nominal] date of conviction.
