Case Numbers At A Crown Court
2 Answers
Could someone enlighten me please.
Someone we know is due to appear before the Crown Court.
There is a case number. Could you tell me if this number is unique to the individual and what he is charged with or if there are others involved would they all have the same case number but at different Crown Courts.

If these are people on the same indictment (like a charge sheet for all those concerned in the same, or closely related, crimes) they will be tried together, at the same court. If there is more than one indictment that too will be tried in that court if the case was sent to it, but it will be assigned a different number.
I have been on this website http:// www.the lawpage s.com and when I typed in the case number it came up with quite a number of names at various Crown Courts around the country. All the cases are roughly being dealt with now. It makes sense what you say.
All I can now think is the person we know has not been honest with us at all and the case is far more complex than we first thought. Suffice to say we will probably not be seeing this person for quite a while.
Thanks for the reply.
