Just had my wife ring me up in tears last week went o2 shop to get an upgrade for new phone she was told she had 7 days in which she could cancel contract for any reason which she did the next day as phone and tariff was no good for her! It was all cancelled now she has a bill for £342 because they say for cancelling a 24 month contract this can't be right where do we stand please

Has she asked them, bernie?
If it's a mistake and they accept it then it should be resolved quickly.
If it's a misunderstanding on her part would she be happy to keep the phone to avoid any hassle and charges?
I'm no lawyer but it sounds a mistake to me. A cooling off period should not be subject to cancellation charges. Try contacting their head office for a solution ?
