My sister was executor for my mother's will, she organised the funeral and dealt with the Registrar. Later the house deeds and paperwork were arranged for a solicitor to take the will to Probate, which took ages to sort out. It was almost a year later before the probate was sorted and my sis was able to carry out her Executive role regarding the Will.
My sister-in-law’s mother died just before Christmas. There are 6 brothers and sisters. One sister and 1 brother have been appointed executers of the will. One brother is living in the mothers bungalow now. They have shown the other brothers and sisters the will but have not done anything about sorting out the inheritance for all of them. Some of them are not on very good talking terms, so that’s why I wondered if there was a time limit so my sister-in-law could get something done herself as it appears he is happy to live in the bungalow and do nothing.
