My friends dad was walking her yorkie (on a lead) in the back alley. Another dog in the back ally came out of a back yard and attacked the the yorkie and my friends dads hand. The vet bill is already £400 !. The police said they cant they do anything and will wait until a child is attacked. Surely this cant be right???

Frankly the police are just being lazy and fobbing you off
It is rare for police to intervene in dog on dog attacks but they should not take of the injury to the owner's hand.

thanks! I have sent the links to my friend
I've just thought - who owns the back alley? Is it a public place - the council own and maintain it; or is it owned by the householders that have access to it?
has your friend asked the dog owner to pay? responsible dog owners either have insurance to cover this, ot would be willing to pay if approached
