Will I Go To Prison

I was very drunk the other night on saturday and my card got swallowed by a cash point so i hit it afew times of what i can remember and maybe just gave it a silly kick on the bottom frame out of frustration. i used nothing but bear hands and i had no cuts or bruises next day so surely i couldnt hit it that hard. i went back next day and there was no damage to the screen or anything and it still worked all fine the only thing i noticed is the frame where the keypad is wasnt there like it had been taken off and i dont know if it was cos i might of damaged it but im 99 per cent i would not of caused that much damage with how i hit it bear hand surely cant do that to a cash point. and like i said it still worked fine people were using it with some wires near kepad showing. i have no convictions at all and i work full time and am so scared and upset with what i done will i go to prison for this being my first offence

I'd be more worried about a scamming machine being on it but removed the next day, check with the bank re your card

ok thanks maybe i shouldnt read to much on google about criminal damage and the prison sentence as i said i got frustrated hit it afew times quite hard and hit the keyboard and kicked it once or twice out of anger at losing my card that i have a fair amount of money on. but im so sure i would of known if that brought the plate of where it sits round keyboard. i have a clean record never ever had police threaten me so as i said im just scared of prison

Your card's safe if the machine has swallowed it - I'd be more concerned if the frame has been removed, that it was a scam. Have you checked your account since you lost the card?

You can relax cyprus. If it will make you feel better then contact the bank and tell them your card was eaten. They will just cancel it and send you out another one. Don't mention the incident. Jot it down as a silly thing to do when inebreated :)

You have to remember to behave yourself inpublic when you are drunk. And for Heavens sake dont pick a fight - even with a machine !

Yeah I think most cash machines have cameras - but they may not be manned or looked at.

once the bank have reviewed the footage - assuming you did do it, you may get a bill - they know who you are because they have your card, footage of you and the time you used it.

it may have been someone else though

these machine contain a lot of money and are not easily damaged

Someone i spoke to today has scared me even more saying it took someone they know who done simular to me 3 weeks for the police to arrive and arrest him. i went to cash point today and it still hasnt been fixed around the keyboard does that mean that they haven seen it

If you haven't heard by now you won't !! Just phone bank tell them your card was eaten they'll send you another....end...

Stop worrying, you won't go down for this. Just do has minty say's and report that your card has been eaten by the machine.

i have reported it to my bank on the night it happended and the atm wasnt even at a bank it was at a university on the wall
