It's on your deeds, as to which is your fence and which is your neighbours.

Ask your neighbour to fix it ,chances are he/she will tell you who owns it
It needs to be remembered that (unless there's a relevant covenant in place) nobody is ever responsible for the upkeep of a fence.

If a fence is in poor repair (or damaged by the recent winds) proving that it's your neighbour's property doesn't mean that he/she is obliged to repair it. He could simply leave it in a state of disrepair or remove it completely and say to you "If you want a fence between our properties then put your own up".
Interesting since I seem responsible for fences both sides of my property and yet the guy at the other end of the terrace says he is in the same position !
And just recalled. ay my late parents place the late neighbours put up the fence, but when it needed repair the latest owners insisted it was our responsibility !

Damned systems, damned useless ! Dog eat dog society, which only cats approve of.
I got taken to court for failing to repair one once. I asked for six other fences to be taken into consideration.
That must surely have been in Ireland, Postdog. They would have been
O'Fences, I think.
It's a difficult one raldaman. In our first house we were responsible for the fences on the right, in our next house we were responsible for the fences on the left, and in this house all fences are joint responsibility!
boxy, no it isnt!
