Urgent Please !! Court

Hello people I received a police caution early this year due to offences last year it was for false representation (fraud) it was a minor case and the police just gave me a caution.. The problem is I have been refused a taxi license due to this offence and now I am appealing this decision in court .. I am a reformed character it was a one off offence how can I win this appeal I need it to fund my degree ? The council said they are happy to consider me in august however that will be too late Help please thanks !!

If you are saving to do a phd then you won't have any money for a holiday so getting into the USA is a moot point really.

It is a moot point but being prepared to lie to the US authorities just proves you are not a reformed character, don't you think?

There are plenty of other jobs you could fit round your PhD. Unbelievable as it may seem, many people work full time whilst studying for the PhD.

You can apply for an ESTA ( instead of a visa) for travel to the USA on line and hope the US Embassy don't check too closely.

Yes however there is a significance difference between a caution and a conviction !

Yes there is. With a caution you've admitted your guilt at an early stage and avoided going to court.

The USA asks - have you been arrested for......

were you arrested? If so, you are ineligible for the visa waiver program and will need a visa to enter the usa (for even 1 day)

Lol jokes aside guys I'm typing from a rubbish phone, I do appreciate your replies though, yes I was arrested however that can't mean I'm banned from entering the us permanently I have read so many stories where people have got it with more serious offences ?

You are excluded from entering the USA using the Visa Waiver Programme and will have to apply for a visa giving details of your arrest. It is then up to the US authorities to decide but they don't like fraudsters.

Joking aside, what are studying for your Phd?

Criminology/psychology --- so for example if I fly out to US tommorow your saying that they will reject my entry ?

You can't fly out to the USA tomorrow without lying. As already said, you don't qualify for the Visa Waiver Programme as you have a caution. You have to apply for a visa or tell lies.

If you fly out tomorrow you will need either a Visa or an ESTA to get into the USA. I know several people with criminal records who have applied for, and got an ESTA.
I know of one person, with a record, who applied for an ESTA and was rejected. He had to go to the American Embassy in London for an interview before they would issue his ESTA.
It would be up to you whether you want to chance it or not.
