my wife and i spent a holiday in Malta. some friends gave her a liqueur
called Tamaquari or Tamacari.does anyone know the drink and if it can be bought in the uk.

Best thing to do is to ask your friends - then you can search for it on Google. Ilove the Maltese soft drink Kinnie - I can get that from Amazon.
I remember buying a very nice liquer from a mobile shop on the top of Dinghli Cliffs. It was distilled from prickly pears that grow all over Malta.Never seen it in UK though.Good excuse to go back to my favourite Island this year

the drink I refer to above is called Bajtra tax-Xewk so obviously not the one you seek.
The names you mention look more like a Bombay Gin brand.

found i! Tamakari. (no scrivenshe japanese sport thank god!!!)
i also agree kinnie is great.
thanks everyone. next time you visit Malta try the Tamakari( got mine in a little bar down at the blue grotto)
