Taking Pictures Of A Suspected Criminal

Would it be an offence on my part to take a picture of somebody on my land who I suspect is taking part in criminal activity, and give the pic to the police? I know there are rights to privacy laws but how far do they go?

Over the last couple of weeks it has been happening. Same driver, sometimes on his own then sometimes has a passenger with him.

This is useful reading but doesn't cover the situation if they are on your private land. I believe that you may photograph what you like on your own land.

Was at a meeting one night - chairperson had noticed that a car was parked for some time before the meeting and was still there when the meeting ended. This was not in a residential area. She went up to the car and asked if they were looking for something. Turned out to be plain clothed cops watching out for prostitutes and kerb crawlers who apparently operated in that area at night.
