Both Mic and I made a will several years ago. As things have now changed I would like to revoke them. They are with a solicitor. Can anyone tell me how to do this. Can I just ring and say changed our minds and we want them back?

Presuming the solicitor is only holding them for safekeeping just go in and collect them.
You can just ask the solicitor to return yours to you and then destroy it. Any chance of it being found means it would remain valid. However it they would not return Mic's to you without his written consent. However I would strongly advise you to make new ones in which case these would automatically revoke the existing ones.
Yes pretty much, they may suggest you consider making a fresh one, but there's no law says you have to.

Thanks guys.
Did they get registered anywhere as well as being stored at the solicitor? Ours were registered on the National Wills Register so if yours were you may need to inform them as well.

No Woof, what's bothering me is we named the solicitor as executor. We now realise that was a big mistake.
Write new Wills, jeza, you can get the solicitor to witness them then store them for you - the new ones will automatically invalidate the earlier ones. Make sure someone (e.g. your executor) knows where the wills are, for when the time comes.

If it is just the executor you want to change you can download the appropriate codicil from the above site for under £6. Both ask for the return of your Wills and them store them wherever you like, as long as your Executors know where. Just don't put them in a locked Deed Box/safety deposit box in the Bank or the Executor will not be able to access the box until he gets probate and will not be able to get probate until he gets into the box. (nasty catch 22 situation)
naming a solicitor as exec is indeed a boo-boo which may damage your wealth.

Just execute two new ones

make sure there is a revocation clause ( there always is )
