You've really been treated terribly by this man, I wouldn't blame you if you did want revenge or pay back. Phone Crimestopper s and report the thefts from lost property. You stay anonymous and they will hopefully look into it. And if nothing comes of it at least you can clear your conscience. Good luck, I hope he does get sent down.

It depends upon his contract of employment. When I worked on the railways there was an obligation upon employees to notify their employer about any criminal matter involving alcohol or drugs (such as drunk driving or possession of cannabis) even if they'd simply been questioned but not charged. However there was no obligation upon them to declare any other police investigation or conviction.
Baza:
Employers can't lawfully take disciplinary action against an employee for something that occurs outside of work unless it affects their ability to remain in the post.
For example, a guy might work in a newsagent's shop near to a school, where lots of kids go to buy sweets. If he's convicted for downloading indecent images of children the newsagent can lawfully sack him as his continued presence in the shop would upset parents and result in a loss of trade when they tell their children to stay away. However if he's convicted for drink-driving, or for being involved in a pub brawl, the newsagent can't lawfully sack him.
Obviously however, being 'banged up' affects someone's ability to do their job, so it's always lawful to terminate the employment of anyone who is sent to prison for any significant length of time.

You are great at giving answers ..i am now going to be brutally honest here ...my ex is sleeping with his boss ( that's fine and dandy by me, i moved on a long time ago ! ) his said boss was at the court when he was found guilty ,his arrogance was unreal and he has obvioulsy fed her a load of lies regarding me etc ..i am glad she was there to hear the truth finally come out ! The thing is ..i know for a fact that him and his mate have been stealing thousands of pounds worth of stuff from the lost property department in which they both work !! It's a dilemma as i also think she must know this too ..he is not shy in selling all the gear they nick in the pub ! He even stashed thousands of pounds here from the jewellery that they sell at hatton garden regulary ! I am mortified that this is going on ,i thing it is so wrong and people are losing there beloved longings daily and not getting them back :( It is not revenge ,it is not "pay back" having him found guilty was enough for me ,and the fact that he will no doubt be also found guilty in August is suffice for me ,but what the hell do i do with this info ? Any ideas would help ,i should probably just keep quiet as it will indeed look like jealousy or whatever ..it is so not though ..morally i think it is wrong !

Oh he treated me so bad ,all i did was love him ! Sad thing is he loved me a little too much :( He eventually lost the plot completely and started abusing me because of his short comings ! I let the abuse go on for over a year ( not knowing it was abuse as i have never encountered anything like it before ! ) until eventually i went to the police when he broke my fingers ,smashed my jaw and cracked my elbow :( That is when he started stalking me etc ...the final beating with a baseball bat made any feelings i may have had for him ,die instantly ...along with my pride ...anyhows ,it's over ,i am moving on slowly ,i have couselling ..and i am looking for a job since i lost my old one as an ambulance driver because f him ! God i sound bitter ,i really am not ...just trying to understand why he treated me so badly ..i hope he does not treat her like this ,though tbh she is infactuated with him ..as was i at one point !
"Employers can't lawfully take disciplinary action against an employee for something that occurs outside of work unless it affects their ability to remain in the post". I would take slight issue with Chris' comments - their ability to remain in post is open to wide interpretation. As a civil servant I know that any criminal conviction can result in disciplinary action and dismissal for a 'major' incident even if it's nothing to do with one's specific role. It breaks the Civil Service Code and also, I believe, contravenes the Official Secrets Act.
I'll tell you why he bashed you - some men just really enjoy bashing women. They are not big enough or strong enough to bash other men, which is what they secretly want to do to make themselves feel powerful, so bashing women is second-best. Form of cowardice, really, and shows up their inferiority complexes.
Have to agree there Atalana, that is exactly what my councellor said !!I never in all the years i knew him, saw him fight a man ! I am against violence in any shape or form ,God i saw enough of it when i was in the ambualnce service ...the things people do to each other is awful at times ...so when it was happening to me i kept quiet as i was so ashamed :( And when the police eventually arrested him and charged him ,oh man the lies he was telling people ,i hid for so long as everyone thought i was making this huge story up as i wanted him back and he did not want to know me ! Sad fact is he was stalking and harassing me begging forgiveness ...but sadly i knew i wanted out by then and let the police help me through it ...end result is he is now looking at prison ...never wanted any of this but some people will just not take no for an answer :( ...Thanks guys
