Assured Shorthold V Periodic
Thank you for that - I can reassure my tenant that I'm not thinking of ending the tenancy, but from what I have read, it looks to me as though as a landlord I would have fewer rights with regard to doing so (if I needed to) if the tenancy remains as a periodic tenancy.That's what worries me. Or have I misunderstood?

periodic means it is an AST with ;lease length of the rent period usually one month. and yes an new AST is six months or a year
so if rents arent rising then it is more advantageous to you to keep it run on. I dont know why tenants dont know this - none of mine ever have.
