Energy Suppliers - Charitable Obligations

Can suppliers allow customers to add a pound to their bills / DDs to donate to charity?

Er- good name. I am sure there are some charity related energy tariffs - I remember seeing them on price comparisons. I can't see any reason why the option wouldn't be permitted. Do you know of one?

You will find ( I think the answer is yes ) that it is a power ( energy companies can offer it if they want ) and not a duty ( you can make the energy companies dance to your tune )

yeah I have checked - you have entered this under 'Law'

and they MAY have a list you can choose from - which of course doesnt include your fave charity.

( you would be better off - I mean the charity better off - doing thro GiftAid which has some wowee ! tax reliefs attached )

Are you looking at this from the point of view of a charity, a customer or a supplier? I'm not really sure what the issue is. Thanks

I've not seen one that adds a pound to your bill but I have seen some that costs a bit more as they include an amount that benefits a charity- eg Marie Curie
