16 yrs ago my claim for medical negligence was heard in the High Court - I lost. I believed at the time that the medical expert witnesses representing the Defendant lied when giving evidence but I couldn't prove it so I kept quiet. I now have definitive evidence proving that they did lie and so did indeed commit perjury. As perjury is a criminal offence do I simply turn up at my local police station and report it or do otherwise?

I think you go down to the local nick and say you want to report a case of perjury. Do be certain you get your facts right - accusing s/o of perjury could be expensive..... and dont forget the G M C whether or not the perjury allegations get up and run. I presume you were represented by a Barrister / Lawyer? If they or their chambers are still in business, I would imagine that would be a good place to start.
I would think the local police would not be interested . If the original lawyers are not still there then go to another lawyer that does criminal law.
As Perjury is a criminal offence then I'd imagine that the only prosecuting authority is the CPS, so it would have to be eventually reported to the police but see if any others know the definitive answer as i'm not 100% sure.

Perjury is obviously a very serious offence and one that requires corroboration.
Go for it, Donks, don't let them get away with it!! This kind of "closing of ranks and protecting their own" is so wrong and needs to be challenged at all levels. Good luck with your case and let us know how you get on.
suggest you visit cits advice for free who will put you on the right track i am sure

and dont forget the G M C whether or not the perjury allegations get up and run. Incredibly since it is a doctors' regulator, they are interested in perjury - admittedly this was during one of its tribunals and the CPS were not interested. The GMC also boasts an anti-terrorist function God help us all.

Are you sure they ( the experts ) were just mistaken - sorry not mistaken ?

Having been thro this myself - the admin of the now defunct children's hospital allowed evidence to be shredded ( all 2000 sheets of it ) and then put up a prosecutor to plead exactly the opposite in various tribunals. The evidence that refuted it was now horse-feed. The whole charade did not stop, they just skirted around those allegations and discussed something else. Oaths were involved of course and no one [not even the defence lawyer] was interested in this obvious perjury. He (one of the administrators) is the one I greet in a corridor with - 'hello you liar ! perjuror ! You will go to hell for what you have done. ' They spent a long time trying to fire me after that.

so good luck

I mean NoW did it with Jeffrey Archer adn then with Tommy Sheridan altho the last case is under review as a result of NoW phone hacking.
// Perjury is obviously a very serious offence and one that requires corroboration.//

that is there has to be a witness to the act that the perjury is about,
so it is not just the accuser and the defendant

In Adomako a nurse said he (A) was drinking milk in a kitchen instead of anaesthetising and the lack of corroboration was specifically pleaded, so the charge was not even placed.

I note that constance bristow the judge that was done for perjury in the Vicky Price thing ( oops!) has had her appeal turned down ( yesterday )
There would be a transcript of whatever was said in court, so there is written evidence.

Thank you all for your posts.
I popped into my 'local nick' yesterday lunchtime and reported the perjury. My allegations were taken very seriously by an officer from the Serious Crime squad & logged into the system. Next week the officer is coming to my house to take a statement from me. I must say I was pleasantly surprised with the outcome of my visit and I am looking forward to next week when I will get the opportunity to present the evidence of perjury to the officer.
I must say that my task has been made much easier by the hospital I sued all those years ago. Having denied facts material to my claim upto & during the trial in 1999 they recently did a complete 'U' turn and are now admitting the same facts they had previously denied thereby contradicting the evidence their expert witnesses gave in court.
If you're still looking in Donks, it would be interesting to know how you get on. Good luck.

Still here Ladybirder. I spent 3 hrs today with a DC (detective constable) & a PC who were very impressed with the evidence of perjury and conspiracy to pervert the course of justice I have. It is moving forward :-)
Oh jolly good. Do keep us informed if you have the time and inclination.
