Trees/hedges Outline Planning Permission

Can you just fell mature Trees/Hedgerow to a boundary at outline planning permission stage without consultation?
The Trees have no TPO's on them and the area does not fall inside a Conservation area

No mention of removal of the Trees/Hedgeline on the submitted plan the Trees/Hedgeline was clearly shown on the submitted plan but with no detail of any works that would be carried out to them

Thanks Zac's-Master I believe adjacent properties should have been consulted and that the removal of the Trees/Hedgeline should have been clearly detailed on the drawing and/or within the submitted outline planning documentation which it was't do you think I have a case to refer their removal to the planning Authority?

surely anyone is allowed to remove trees on their property without any sort of planning permission at all?

bednobs, thats what i would have thought. but the precise legal situation has not been answered. If an outline planning application has been made does it not make every tree on the property subject to an interim TPO. The council should not have to wait for neighbours to complain. The tree officer should be round there straight away before the owner can do any damage

well, i suppose it would depend on what the outline PP was for wouldn't it? If for example, it was for a dwelling, and the trees were pictured so that the person looking at the plans would know where the dwelling was situated on the plot, it's a bit different

If the trees were shown on the existing plan and not on the proposed, it migh t be more clear-cut but it still is only 'outline'.

If the trees are not subject to a TPO and the site is not in a conservation area then no permission is needed to fell the trees. The only reason a planning application would change this is if a planning permission contains a condition that the trees must be retained. There is no such rule than submitting an application puts an interim TPO on the trees.
