If you'd put this as an answer to your original post it would have been helpful and made more sense!

well yes you can require a doctor to correct medical records when they are wrong but it usually a correction and the records are hardly ever expunged ( unless the records are about s/o called phedupand60 )
but I dont think these are medical details - he has said he thinks you cant climb stairs. I dont see why you cant see him on an apprt and ask him to re-write.
Or you could issue a correction - "I am much better now and can climb stairs"

I think I have cracked this post now. When you said in your first post 'I want to move near my Doctor' you really meant I want to move near my daughter?
Have you thought about a house exchange? from your post you and your daughter are 'adequately housed ' so the council will be in no hurry to rehouse you. The answer could be to find someone who lives where you want to move to and is willing to swap houses. Councils have lists of people who want to swap homes or there are websites where you can register and look for a swap.

Hi, thanks for reply. There are one bed houses being built as we speak which I qualify for, and have been on the bidding system for years. It is a whole estate with all size houses. I have a 2 bed house which I am allowed because I lvie so far away from my family, I can put them up. So in case anyone is curious, I don't have to pay bedroom tax and am allowed a 2 bed anywhere because of my age and family so spread out. So I would be freeing up a 2 bed for a family. The letter has stopped me getting one which is unfair. I have written to the docs. Mine was a law question, not a debate saying I am making things up to suit myself. Thanks Mark, yes it is just proving I have been using stairs all the time. It does help me anyway with stairs, and gardening also. Standing in one spot or sitting too long makes it worse. I am ok and get relief using the stairs etc. Cannot keep going for walks just to relief the pain, but stairs obviously and bedrooms upstairs. That is the reason for stairs for me because as it relieves the pain as pressure hits one spot.

The 'bedroom tax' is not applied to pensioners any way.
I still say you have 2 options, to 'downsize' to a one bed place, most councils have a program to do this. Or to look for someone who has a house near your daughter and wants to exchange with you. It is no good expecting the council to offer you another place as you are already 'adequately housed' they have enough people on the waiting list that are in poor or inadequate housing. You are going to have to do it yourself !

I am completely baffled by this pair of threads. I wanted to ask how the doctor's letter came to be in the first place, seeing as how no doctor can diagnose sciatica without the patient telling them where/when the pain is. But that would be too intrusive.
Instead, I only want to ask how anyone goes about getting two councils, 400 miles apart to coordinate with one another? What if the "down south" council is in crisis with their supply/demand situation?
Is there anything, in Law, preventing freedom of movement across the country, where social housing is involved?
