Newish Dryer
What are my rights? Purchased a new tumble dryer in May and the heating element is not working. The manufacturers cannot say when the part will be available and the shop doesn't want to know.So I have been without a dryer now for two weeks and have no idea how long this could go on for.Whose responsible the shop or the manufacturer?

The shop said it was guaranteed by the manufacturer, and they sent an engineer. It needed a new part which had to be ordered from Italy! as they do not stock parts here in the UK. It took over 3weeks to arrive and be fitted. It seems that consumer rights have gone out of the window. When the man fitted the new part he warned me that I needed to make sure it never got wet! A washing machine in a steamy kitchen!!!!!!!! Good Luck with the dryer though. My husband bought me a Philips tumble dryer when I had our fourth baby in 1986, and (touch wood) it still works as well as ever.
Your rights are against the retailer – the company that sold you the product – not the manufacturer, and so you must make any claim against the retailer.
