Tv Licensing - Crb / Dbs Checked?

I was wondering if anyone knows whether BBC licensing goons / Capita employees have to be CRB/DBS checked? If they come knocking on my door, I don't know who they are, and there are televisions in my children's rooms.
What power do I have to refuse them entry to certain parts of my house?
There is Article 8 of The Human Rights Act - Right to respect for private and family life.

But if you've got a licence, just show it to them.

They called here once (I hadn't changed my address) and the lady was perfectly nice, no checking of rooms involved.

If they think they have proof you are illegally using TV receivers in your property they can swear out a Search warrant in front of a magistrate.
They then have right of access and you commit an offence to fail to let them search.

I don't need a licence, the televisions are only used for the Xbox games consoles and my DVD player. But the BBC don't seem to understand some people are not interested in the junk they pump out, deciding instead to use their minds instead of being told what to think.
Sorry, I had to get that off my chest!
Anyway, likely as not they will turn up and wish to 'inspect' my inability to receive live TV signals...

TV licensing officials don't, in the first instance, have any powers of entry. They can ask to look around but they need to apply to a magistrate for a warrant before they can insist upon entering. (If they've got a warrant it's a criminal offence to prevent them from entering). However a magistrate won't issue a warrant unless the licensing officials can show that there are reasonable grounds for suspecting that a TV set is being used without a licence.

DBS employment checks can only be carried out for a very limited number of occupations. However the list of 'eligible positions' DOES include 'civilian enforcement officers' and those working for 'approved enforcement agencies', so it seem likely that those TV licensing staff who exercise entry powers under warrants WILL have been DBS checked.

It's a criminal offence to 'install' a TV set without a licence, even if it's not used for TV reception:

You do not have to let them in unless they have a magistrates warrent.
Which they can only get if they have reason to believe you are watching TV without a licence.
If they do come and ask to look round your house to prove you do not have a TV set just show them round.
There is no requirement for them to be CRB /DBS checked,why should there be? They are not going to be alone with your children.

Sorry Tora, not an option. I refuse to support the BBC, especially if I have no use whatsoever for their 'services'! You'd be mad to do that.
I have NO aerial lead, and no channels are available on any TV set in the house.
I am actually looking forward to a visit so I can make them look stupid. ( I will videorecord the full event).

Ah - but you were actually asking about Freeview on your own TV ... which is a live service ... gotcha I think.
