I made my own mind up re the June referendum, I have Dip. LCW after my name and, despite what Ca Moron thinks, can read, write and think for myself. I am LIVID that £9,000,000 is being spent of OUR money on a 'pamphlet' by a hypocrite to try and 'swing' the results in HIS favour! Surely this is illegal? Is this referendum not supposed to be 'fair and unbiased?' Unfortunately I know very little (0) about law, but feel that there MUST be something he (Ca Moron) can be dragged before the courts for? Any lawyers out there with ideas?
Thanks

As a 70 year-old the decision will not have a long-term effect on my life and I like to think that I will make a decision that is in the interests of the country rather than just to my advantage. I must admit that, the more I see people saying "OUT, I'm not even going to bother reading the evidence", the more I think I'll be voting "remain".
Thanks svejk. It seems the correct position is this:
" the designated campaign can spend up to £7 million on campaigning during the official referendum period - as opposed to £700,000 for other registered campaigns. They will receive a public grant of £600,000, can make Referendum broadcasts and will get a single free mail shot to every home in the UK." So, you are right that the actual grant is only £600000 but the additional free mailshot is surely worth close to £7 million, maybe more.
But I agree that what the government is doing now is on top of the funds available for the In and Out campaigns. Only time will tell whether the government is right to use public money in this way or whether there will be a backlash. At least Cameron was clear in the election manifesto that he was in favour of staying but would hold a referendum- no other major party offered such a vote- and Cameron's party won the election with that manifesto.
