He is playing the 'insane' policy hoping to spend his life in Broadmoor rather than a jail cell !

It used to be the case that if you did not plead you could not be tried. To encourage people to plead if they refused to do so they were taken to the prison yard, covered with a large board and heavy weights were put upon them gradually until they either pleaded or were crushed to death. Nowadays an automatic 'not guilty' plea is entered and the trial proceeds as normal, unless he is found unfit to plead.

I never understand why anyone would wish to go to a hospital like Broadmoor instead of prison. A stay in a 'normal' psychiatric hospital is scary enough.

Being in a Acute Medical Ward that is a dumping ground for Geriatric and Psychie patients is worse especially when one has actual medical problems and would appreciate some serenity and sleep. Had all that last week :-( Now in Acute coronary ward. Paradise and peace. Own room. From Hades to heaven.

No. Might get an angiogram at St Georges next week if I am good (ambulance day transfer). Meanwhile I spend the w/e just popping pill cocktails in Cardio St Helier. Have escape plan firmly in place for Brexit vote on 23rd even if I get recaptured to end up in the cooler. :-)

Every vote counts and I will vote. Apathy is not my way. In hospital I am independent, mobile, feed and shower/ shave myself. Apart fro drug rounds the staff don't know I am here. I even do my 24 hr fluid charts as am on diuretics and 1500ml fluid restriction. I do not accept I have had a coronary event and they wont miss me for 40 mins. This referendum is serious to me and I believe my vote may count.

One vote may not, but when so many look towards celebs and other names to make decisions for them, how many will conclude that one side has the support of the criminally insane so maybe they should support the other lot ?
