Is the word 'suicide' visible on the photo? If so, what a silly thing to do. The photographer should have advised you.

its visible but really low on my shirt (just belw the breast area) and im not sure if they will crop it out considering the fact that the size of the picture the photographer gives isnt fully used for the passport and also they didnt tell me it was showing or to cover it, i found out once i got home.

Best advice - go and have them retaken and wear a plain shirt. You don't want the security services knocking on your door.

I don't know what the rules are in Canada, but in the UK you must not smile for a passport photo.

That's because it's well known that the British never smile, so you'd never be recognised in your passport.

sounz as tho there is too much shirt and not enough head on the photo if you can read it, on the lower chest

your passport bookie thing will tell you the dimensions required
( canadian civil service being as 'good' as the one in good old blighty )

If it had been a tattoo on your face or neck area that was visible would all pictures be rejected?

Canadian passport photos have to meet these requirements:

Clothing (other than around the neckline) can't feature in them at all.
