yes they remain married and no remarriage is not necessary ( coz they are already married ) and in fact would be impossible ( they are already married )

no I have checked we are on law
the only sort of interesting bit is where one partner has not told the truth at the marriage ceremony, There is a sudduv difference between getting married ( forms and stuff and white cake ) and being married ( changing nappies and mortgages )
so if one partner has lied at the marriage ceremony then the union is void for him ( he cant rely on it ) but is voidable for the innocent party - she can rely on it or not as it suits them

poor dear Princess Di ( not a great reader in her own words ) got hung up on this ( I am certain we have had this before ) and read in the Act of succession/bill of rights, somewhere that the Prince of Wales shall not marry a Roman Catholic ( altho the act didnt say what would happen if he did )

and so jumped in a taxi and went orf to Cardinal Hume to convert - he said no by the way

and missed the fact that the act said ... shall not marry
and NOT ...... be married to .....
