What would happen if you refused to consent to a strip search while in police custody? Surely they couldn't physically remove your clothes against your will could they?

Yes they could and do. If the police suspect you to have a weapon, for example, you can't refuse and expect the police to say that's alright then we won't bother.

Yes they can ! Otherwise it would be impossible to know if a suspect was hiding drugs or a weapon.
