Is there a payee age limit for receiving cheques. I have been told that cheques should not be issued to children under 16

I've never heard of that before and my kids have received cheques in the past. As long as they have a bank account to cash it, I can't see a problem
I hope not- I used to give cheques for children with accounts
As long as the child has their own Bank account there is no problem.
you may be thinking of children being too young yo make a contract
Children under 16 cannot issue cheques. They are not allowed cheque books.
