Capital Resove. Debt Recovery
My daughter has received a letter today from the above company saying that they have been asked to contact her by a credit reference agency and they want her to get in touch with them, it does'nt say what it's for or anything, she has now started to worry about it and is scared to phone up about it, should she just ignore the letter, as far as she knows she does'nt owe any money to anyone

Tell her to ignore the letter. If the debt really exists, they will try to produce evidence to that effect by post. Until that arrives, forget about it.
You can indeed ignore debt letters that fail to provide you with tangible details of a debt. No details means no pay. Debt collection agencies look for what are called cash cows - people who pay debts without substantive evidence of the need to pay.
Tell her to stay off the phone. She must never deal with them in this way. If they phone her tell her to tell them "All communications must be in writing only" and put the phone down. If she is truly liable for the debt, they'll provide written evidence.
